SHINee to perform at London Korean Festival on Nov. 3

 MANILA, Philippines - K-pop boy band SHINee will perform at the opening of the 6th London Korean Film Festival on Nov. 3.
The idol group will hold an opening gala concert called “SHINee in London” at 4:30 p.m. at Cinema 2 of the Odeon West End Theater.
Their performance will precede the 6:30 p.m. premiere of hit Korean period film “The War of the Arrow,” directed by Kim Han-min.
Tickets to the concert and the premiere night are already sold out, according to the festival organizers.
“It is unprecedented for Korean artists to hold a solo concert in London, and SHINee will be the first idol group to hold their solo concert there. In addition, the concert is predicted to catch the eyes of many people in London as the Odeon West End Theater is one of the famous performance venues in London,” KBS website quoted SM Entertainment, SHINee’s agency as saying.
This will be SHINee’s second visit to London. Last June, SHINee performed at the famous Abbey Road Studio.
On the other hand, the 6th London Korean Film Festival will showcase different Korean movies.
Included in this year’s festival are the films “Sunny,” “Handphone,” “The Front Line,” “Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Woman,” “Dance Town,” “Leafie: A Hen into the Wild,” “Poongsan,” “Rough Cut,” “Chaser,” “Scandal Makers,” “Memento Mori,” “Yellow Sea,” “Suicide Forecast,” “Late Autumn,” “A Day Off,” and “Assassins.”
Festival director Hye-jung Jeon said, “2010 marked the London Korean Film Festival’s fifth anniversary with our biggest events to date but 2011 sees the start of a new era for the festival where we are striving to bring even more of the best of Korean cinema, past and present, to the UK shores.”
He added, “This year we will continue to promote one of the principle aims of the festival which is to showcase K-Culture with a number of films explore many different aspects of Korean culture. K-pop is one of the most up and coming elements of Korean culture that is becoming more and more popular in the UK which the festival will be looking to help to increase the profile in this exciting and fresh musical wave. This will be shown with a lie performance from K-pop sensation SHINee.”
