Dreams really do come true! Or at least that’s what European K-pop fans will tell you. This past weekend, five of the biggest names in K-pop — SM artists TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, and F(x) — performed for 14,000 fans at two sold-out concerts at Le Zénith in Paris, France. SM Town Live in Paris may just be the first real step towards the full-scale expansion of K-pop to the rest of the world.International fans have been proving their love for K-pop and vocalizing their desires to see their favorite idols live — and SM Town Live in Paris was the first answer to the calling. Not only that, but SM has been continuing to take advantage of social media to connect with their international fans.
Remember when Super Junior members Leeteuk and Siwon talked about Twitter on CNN? Leeteuk described social media as a good channel to check in with fans and show them what he’s up to. Well, SM Entertainment has taken that one step further with an official Facebook page for all of the labels’ artists. From the day that SM artists began arriving in Paris, SM Entertainment posted photos and statuses in steady frequency, with live posts throughout both concerts, eliciting thousands of comments and likes within minutes. The uploaded concert footagehas garnered millions of views combined, which fans were able to watch the night of the actual performance. The five total videos feature one of each SM artist’s hit songs, beginning with the SM maknaes, f(x) and SHINee, and ending with TVXQ’s sexy performance of “Before You Go.”
